I decided to go with Zog and Mog today…but I decided to include Jak, Eugene and Adjana as well…I had originally thought about having this two separate pages (Zog and Mog would have had their own and Adjana, Eugene and Jak would have had a second) but as I was looking at it I thought it worked better like this.

I’m also fairly sure that someone, SOMEWHERE will find this offensive (Either the ‘Atheist with a backup plan’ or the ‘On the rag’ comment) but to circumvent any complaints let me just say this:
(Holy crap I have smilies, woah)

Heh Heh…

Seriously though, it’s nice to show Zog and Mog being…well…brothers…It’s funny, everyone knows they’re brothers, but they never really act like it (Other than the odds or end occasion) but this is a good view of their life together. Snarky, but not totally mean to each other.

This is also a good chance to show a little more of the ‘religious’ aspect of the Universe. I’ve kind of talked about it before, but now strikes me as a better time than ever to talk about it…I haven’t really decided how to introduce more of that aspect yet…Maybe a little more on it later in the chapter (after the agents reassemble).

I don’t know.

But basically ‘The book of Guardians’ is a kind of galacitc bible…It takes a lot of different planet’s religious text and uses a few common threads to combine certain aspects of each one into a single religious text. However each planet has several different religious text (just like ours does).

Guardianism (as they call it) is a newer belief system and is much more ‘modernized’ than many others. Zog is actually Gurdianistic (as are their parents) where as Mog is Etheriest, which is a more traditional religion from Zargonian. Technically Ehteriest is polytheistic (many gods) but it focuses on the single Zargonian God, Etherio, who is the God of Free Thought. According to the Book of Guardians Etherio is actually another form of the god Kayooshen.

Though most Etheriests disagree (for obvious reasons).

For everyone who actually reads this little blog and went “Oh @#$%…does he expect us to remember all that?!” my answer is “No, how big of an asshole would that make me?!”. Like a lot of things in this comic it can be summed up by saying ‘There’s a lot of lore out there, and you only need to know a few things”.

Just keep in mind that there’s more than on religion and more than one system of belief in the wide Universe…and also keep in mind that just because two characters pray to the same God (Jenny and Adjana both pray to Ariea) doesn’t mean they’re from the same Religion (Jenny is Arieast and Adjana is Eliast).

See the crap you learn when you read the blog?

Seriously though, just sit back and enjoy. The lore of the PKF is going to come fast, hard, and (hopefully) well explained from here on out.

-Peace

All the random crap is fully out of the way. I cannot think of a single thing that Jenny now needs to tell Tom to clear the air.

You know everything about his life, the only thing left is his father’s whereabouts. That’s something even Jenny doesn’t know, so she can’t begin to speak about it…I’m not sure if I even know (not to lead you along). He may have simply run off…Personally I don’t see it unresolved as it is. Not everything in life is tied up in a nice little knot…and really, what would Tom do if he saw him? Beat his ass? Cry? Tell him off and then walk away from him as he had done all those years ago?

Probably the ‘Beat his ass’ option, to be honest. And that wouldn’t really provide anything but closure, which is nice. We’ll see if I have time for that in Book Three or something…as it is Book Two is loaded down with exposition.

If I feel the need to have the bastard show up, it’ll be a while. It’s not like he’s all that important to the story. And no. Tom’s father isn’t Paoken. Tom isn’t the @#$%ing messiah, though I considered it, heh.

We’ll see a bit of Terrence’s life soon, just a little peak. Enough for you to understand the guy a little better and hopefully you’ll like his father, he turned out more interesting than I had planned, so I’m happy with him…I now intend to have him appear again sometime…we’ll see.

I also feel like I should take a second to tell you all about the little picture of a bear in the background of panel one. It’s appeared once before at the beginning of the comic and is actually kind of special to me, no I didn’t draw it, my late Grandfather did. I owe a lot to the people in my life, but my Grandfather was one of my earliest artistic influences. He always drew these amazing landscapes and pictures of animals, he never had a year of formal education on the subject either. Everything he did was eye-to-paper and he was damned good at it.

He always encouraged me to draw (well…paint…his favorite medium) and was one hell of a handyman on top of it. I don’t know where I would be without him, he always did what he could for my family and he was a great man. I don’t know why I’m suddenly so nostalgic, but having the little bear appear is always nice for me…so if you’ve read my rambling, I appreciate it, if not…well, you still read the comic, so either way I’m in a good mood.

I’ve always tried to stick the little bear into the comic when the occasion called for it. Sadly the agents are rarely at Tom’s house, but now that Jenny is in the loop expect her home to become almost as regular a hangout as the hold. So little bear will be back, as often as I can pull him out, heh.

This chapter wraps up on Monday, then we’ll have a bit of filler (whilst I recoup my buffer loss) but more on that when the time comes.

-Peace
